Electric vehicle charge point operator, Alfa Power, is delighted to announce the launch of two electric vehicle chargers in association with Castle Rock Pubs.
The new chargers are now live at the groups Poppy & Pint and Embankment pubs in Nottingham.
The Embankment features a 70kW rapid charger, one of only a handful in the country, making it the fastest EV charger (outside the Tesla network) in Nottingham, and the Midlands!
The Poppy & Pint has a 22kW fast charger installed, catering perfectly for drivers looking for a more extended stay. The 22kW can comfortably charge a vehicle in a few hours, making it the ideal choice for those wishing to stop off for a long lunch.
Alfa Power’s Business Development Director, Zuber Patel, feels the new installs will further cement Nottingham’s place as a leading Go Ultra Low city.
“We are delighted to have installed two new chargers in Nottingham and hope the additional infrastructure will help bolster the thriving e-mobility community within the Go Ultra Low city.
“We are also pleased to have partnered with Castle Rock on this venture, and we are happy to be working with such a forward-thinking organisation, who are keen to contribute toward both corporate social responsibility while also providing an additional service to the people of Nottingham”.
Vicki Saxby, Operations Director of Castle Rock, echoed those sentiments and reaffirmed their desire to be environmentally sustainable.
“We have been working to reduce our ecological footprint for many years now through our Green accreditation with Investors in the Environment, and recently received the Sustainability award from Visit Nottingham’s STARS Awards.
“The addition of charging facilities to the Embankment and the Poppy and Pint is a commitment to a collective future where electric vehicles are the norm.
“We want our pubs to be the go-to places for car charging, where customers can sit back and relax, grab a bite to eat or gear up with a coffee while they charge up.
“The charging facility at the Embankment on Trent Bridge is the most rapid in Nottingham. It’s great to be able to offer a speedy service on such a vital transport route in and out of the city.”
Rapid chargers, such as the one now installed at The Embankment provide EV drivers with a quick and convenient way to charge their vehicle.
Alfa Power’s 4in1 Rapid Charger provides the fastest rapid charge solution in the UK, while also allowing four cars to charge simultaneously.
Fast chargers similar to the one installed at the Poppy & Pint are a crucial part of the EV charging infrastructure too, as highlighted by Daniel Brown, Policy Manager and EV Lead at the Renewable Energy Association.
“Fast public chargers will form an important part of the overall charging mix,” said Daniel Brown. “It is crucial that they are going in the ground now to give consumers the confidence to be able to purchase an EV as their next vehicle. We welcome this new installation from Alfa Power.”
The fast charger is capable not only of 22kW charging but also simultaneously charging up to two cars via two Type 2 open sockets. The charging point also has the best-in-class AC specifications available on the market today.
Alfa Power plans to continually upgrade their charging points to meet the demands of the UK’s growing EV market, with the installation of 100kW+ rapid chargers making them the fastest EV charge point provider outside of the Tesla network.
